National, States leaders emerge as nPDP, CPC, ANPP, ACN form R-APC

The names of the National and States Officers of the Reformed All Progressives Congress have emerged.
This followed the announcement of the formation of the new group by an ally of President Muhammadu Buhari, Buba Galadima, on Wednesday.

Galadima named himself as the National Chairman of the R-APC.

He said groups that formed the R-APC included the New Peoples Democratic Party, Congress for Progressive Change, All Nigeria Peoples Party and the Action Congress of Nigeria.

It was the same groups that formed the All Progressives Congress prior to the 2015 elections and went on to defeat the party in power at the federal level, the Peoples Democratic Party.

In a statement announcing the formation of the R-APC on Wednesday, Galadima listed the following as National and States Officers of the party:
1. Yobe State – Buba Galadima (National Chairman)
2. Kano State – Bala Muhd Gwagwarwa (National Deputy Chairman, North)
3. Abia State – Chief Theo Nkire (National Deputy Chairman, South East)
4. Ondo State – Hon. Eko Olakunle (National Vice Chairman South West)
5. Kaduna State – Hon. Hussaini Dambo (National Vice Chairman North West)
6. Kogi State – Mahmud Mohammed Abubakar – (National Vice Chairman, North Central)
7. Benue State – Hon. Godwin Akaan (Deputy National Secretary)
8. Oyo State -Dr Fatai Atanda (National Secretary)
9. Edo State – Kazeem Afegbua (National Publicity Secretary)
10. Adamawa State – Daniel Bwala (Financial Secretary)
11. Jigawa State – Abba Malami Taura (Deputy National Auditor)
12. Kwara State – Hon. Kayode Omotosho (National Treasurer)
13. Anambra State -Barr. Nicholas Asuzu (National Youth Leader)
14. Rivers State – Barr. Baride A. Gwezia (Legal Adviser)
15. Katsina State – Haj Aisha Kaita (National Woman Leader)

Kogi East Senate: UPP endorses ADC’s Victor Adoji

The United Political Parties, Kogi State Chapter, said it has endorsed the candidature of Dr Victor Alewo Adoji, of the Action Democratic Congress (ADC), for the Kogi East Senatorial seat in the rescheduled National Assembly election slated for 23rd February 2019.

In a statement signed by Hon Ibrahim Itodo, state leader and Hon Mohammed Lawal, Secretary Kogi UPP respectively, said without sentiments, the decision to support Adoji was taken after a careful assessment of his manifestos and carriage which makes him outstanding among 30 others running for the Kogi East Senatorial seat.

The statement which reads in part said “Having keenly followed the campaign and activities of Dr Victor Alewo Adoji’s sensitization and campaign manifestos to his senatorial district, without any iota of doubt or sentiment has proven that he has the competence, capacity and the character to be supported by the United Political parties into the Senate come 23rd February 2019 general elections

“In view of the above assertion therefore, the United Political Parties on this day 20th February, 2019 endorsed the candidate of ADC, Dr Victor Alewo Adoji as our conscientious candidate for the Senate to represent the good people of Igala/Bassa Kingdom.

“This endorsement is as a result of critical review of the past Representatives in the Red chamber and their non-performance non- participatory democracy in carrying the Constituents along in a democratic Manner.

The UPP said it was not surprised therefore that, the East/Bassa Elders political forum after careful interaction with the candidates also declared Dr Victor Alewo Adoji of ADC as the most acceptable and credible candidate for the election to represent Igala/Bassa Kingdom at the Red chambers of the National Assembly.

They maintained that “Dr Victor Alewo Adoji has proven beyond reasonable doubt by his theory of a Social contract principle and a bottom to up style of governance canvassed during his campaign and therefore clearly distinguished himself among others that he is more prepared to face the business of law making in the National Assembly.

“We are urging the good people of Igala/Bassa land to proudly support the candidate of the ADC, Dr Victor Alewo Adoji for Senate on Saturday 23rd February, 2019.

The group noted that the UPP is present in all the three senatorial districts of Kogi state and made up 26 political parties, saying that the endorsement is to prove to the people that the UPP has carried out an assessment of all the candidates contesting elective positions in the state.

Kogi Gov. Chief of Staff allegedly arrests, hounds ADC senatorial candidate’s supporters

Supporters of Kogi East Senatorial District candidate of the African Democratic Congress, Victor Adoji, are having it very tough ahead of the postponed general election.
Information filtering in has it that ADC candidate’s supporters are being hounded out of town ahead of the February 23, 2019 poll.
“They are being arrested and attacked under different facades,” a source stated.
Details available alleged Edward Onoja, the Chief of Staff to Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, as masterminding the intimidation of Adoji’s supporters.  Adoji confirmed the information.
He disclosed that his supporters are currently moving out of town to avoid attacks and related intimidation tactics being deployed by the Governor’s Chief of Staff.
Bello, a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress, had boasted to President Muhammadu Buhari that he would deliver Kogi state “100%” to the APC and the President.
It is believed that Onoja is acting out a part of the script to help the Governor deliver on the promise with the hounding of Adoji’s supporters.
The election for the President, Senator and House of Representatives members hold on the same day.
Adoji had stirred up a whirlwind of support that has thrown up intimidating popularity ahead of the election.
The ADC senatorial candidate’s formidable political presence had attracted the attention of the ruling party chieftains, especially Governor Bello.
This development reportedly resulted in an alleged consistent attack which Adoji kept reporting on his Facebook page, Dr. Victor ALEWO Adoji 2019 – with pictures – including the recent burning of the house of a passionate supporter.
